      Cameo Baroque Concert

A fascinated audience of music lovers gathered to hear the beautiful work of the Versatile Telemann on Sunday, October 15.  The generous offerings of this crowd will be forwarded to our friends at Christ Episcopal Church in Montpelier, and to the Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center, who suffered catastrophic damage during the flooding in July.

St. Mary's would like to thank Cameo Baroque and all in attendance for this wonderful event.

Celebrating Michaelmas at Heartberry Hollow Farm & Forest

      Michaelmas Celebration

      Procession and Potluck Dinner

Friday, September 29th, marks the feast of St. Michael and All angels. Each year, Heartberry Hollow Farm & Forest observes the feast by participating in a traditional procession of a harvest loaf of bread through a graveyard on horseback. This tradition comes to us from our Christian ancestors on the Hebredian islands as recorded in the Carmena Gadelica. We are delighted to invite members of the wider community, members of St Mary's Northfield, and members of Good Shepherd Barre to join us for this procession. We will gather at Heartberry Hollow Farm & Forest (1393 Steele Hill Rd) at 5pm and the procession will begin at 530. Each family (or parish) is invited to bake a loaf of bread and to carry it on the procession. The graveyard is a short ten minute round trip walk down a dirt road. Following the procession we will return to Heartberry Hollow for an open air potluck on the grounds. We will provide a large carrot soup (carrot harvest is a traditional practice for Michaelmas) and we invite others to bring a side dish/dessert to share. If you plan on bringing a horse for the procession please reach out to Rachel Field (rachelf2000@gmail.com) directly to arrange for trailer parking. Parking at the farm is limited so carpool is highly encouraged.
